Our Team

Lauren Watson, LPC, LCPC

Lauren is a psychotherapist licensed by the states of Virginia and North Carolina. Her integrative approach to psychotherapy incorporates a focus on the environment, thoughts, feelings, and actions that lead to unhealthy responding. Her psychotherapy is specifically tailored to each child, adolescent and family's needs, abilities, and circumstances. With over 10 years experience, Lauren has worked in both the hospital setting, intense outpatient and private practice providing support to a wide range of challenges including anxiety, emotional dysregulation, depression, self injury, and interpersonal challenges.

A specialist in twice exceptional, gifted and neurodiverse clients, Lauren works with families to understand how altering the environment and scaffolding goals can help young people reduce the friction their symptoms may cause them. Her goal is to help her clients work towards being comfortable being their authentic selves while they navigate life’s difficulties.

Lauren believes in a holistic approach to treatment. She frequently engages in a treatment team approach with physicians, occupational therapists and speech and language pathologist. Additionally she works collaboratively with schools and universities to identify and offer solutions to road blocks that hinder academic and social success.
